Motivation
During the school year, I didn't have access to home charging so I needed to go to a fast charger pretty often. I wanted to get work done while waiting for the charging to finish so I created this wooden, laser cut table to hold my laptop.
Building Process
I began by researching existing steering wheel tables and found this Thingiverse design that was made for 3D printing. My main criteria was small (since I was using scrap wood and wanted to be able to easily store it in the middle compartment) and basic geometry so it can be laser cut. Taking inspiration from this design, I adapted it so it can be laser cut in multiple slices and expanded the work area.
After modifying the 3D model, I made 2 different patterns that was laser cut and glued together with wood glue.
